Play Day In Texas

I know you have heard the old adage All work and no play.....yada yada yada....

Well, it's true, and here in Texas we take both ... Work and Play...seriously!

Yep...Sister and I worked a day and played a day.

It's a heck of way to Make A Livin, but somebodys gotta do it....another old adage....works for me or I should say works and plays for me.

Here's another one....When in New Braunfels, Texas to work...Go To Gruene To Play!

Gruene Hall, a bar and dance hall, was built in the 1880’s and soon became the social center for the community. It still stands at the end of Hunter Road and the intersection of Gruene Road. It is oldest dance hall in Texas and many country-singing stars and legends have performed there over the years. Willie Nelson, George Strait, Jerry Jeff Walker, Lyle Lovett are some of the well-known singers. A complete list of the singers is displayed inside the hall.

Cheers Ya'll!!

  1. Looks like twins sitting there!. That looks like a really cool place, the garden next to it is just beautiful, so many different kinds of plants. It's such a blessing to have a sister isn't it. Have a great time.

  4. I CANNOT wait to Whoop-it-Up in TX this fall. New Braunfels is half a state away from where my lil sis lives and we only have a couple weeks to play together. We will be doing some early retirement down south so I would LOVE to see your dance hall. We have an old hall called Gruenerwald, so this really caught my eye and heart. Love the garden.
Have many more memories with your sis. You sure look alike. WOW

  5. Looks like fun, Sue! Have another cold one for me!... Love that cactus outside.. I've never seen one like that, or that big, before! If any visitors have a few too many, I guess they had better be real careful stumbling out of there, (0; if it's as prickly as other cacti! ~tina

  11. Hi Sue, you know how much my sisters mean to me. I have one brother that is a darlin man if there ever was one. One day I will post about him. He is smack in the middle of the sisters.

You both are as pretty as can be and I sure could use a swig of some good cold beer. I love the work and play idea in Texas. I would love to play in that place. I love country music too. You go girls.

My sister and I had a fabulous time on our antique shopping trip. She bought lots and I bought a bit. The weather was fine except on our drive home. It is good to be home.

Your new header is awesome. Love the boots.

Work hard and have fun is my new motto. HA!
    Hugs, Jeanne
